General Information
- Sensors should only be installed indoors.
- For optimal connectivity, install your first sensor on the highest floor (or location) where you plan to install a sensor. Then, proceed with activating and installing the other sensors in the remaining locations.
Recommended Locations for Sensor Placement
Place sensors indoors near appliances, equipment, plumbing, or in a temperature-
controlled room. Examples of placement locations are:
- In a bathroom, kitchen, laundry, or utility room
- Under a sink, behind a toilet
- Next to a boiler, water heater, or sump pump
- In a temperature-controlled basement near a pipe
- In a temperature-controlled room where freezing conditions are a concern
- Where leaks or freeze loss have occurred in the past
Note: Before activating a sensor, take the sensor to the actual room and specific location to determine suitability of sensor placement.
Sensor Installation
The sensor detects leaks when water comes into contact with the 2 metallic leak pins
found on the edge of the sensor (below the water droplet symbol). The closer the pins are to the ground, the sooner a leak will be detected.
