Placement Suggestions

Place your gateway

• Close to where most sensors will be installed
• At a central location with open space, (e.g. on higher ground)
• On a shelf table or wall mount at least 5-7 feet off the ground
• In an area with good connectivity to your Wi-Fi network (If using Wi-Fi to connect to gateway)
• Near (but not inside) refrigeration unit or cold storage unit that will be monitored

Do not place your gateway

• In closed spaces (closets, attics, basements)
• Near electronics that might obstruct signal (microwaves, TVs, baby monitors)
• In basements or below-grade level with poor cell signal
• In or near major obstructions (steel, lead, thick concrete, earth)
• In areas with significant metal or high voltage interference (kitchens, power/mechanical rooms)
• In a location where the power cord or Ethernet cables would cause a tripping hazard
